Markets

Attending regular markets in my ‘drone tent’ is a major source of private work. As well as selling Bailiwick canvas and poster prints, this is an excellent opportunity to meet both local and visitors.

Private Commissions

I enjoy undertaking private property commissions and converting a drone photo into a large canvas print for the client. The results are outstanding. With any drone work, a Risk Assessment and Flight Plan needs to be done, together with an on-site survey, all to be approved by The Director of Civil Aviation in Guernsey

The National Trust of Guernsey

It is wonderful to work alongside the National Trust of Guernsey as their drone pilot. As well as capturing their events such as the Viaër Marchi I also assist the National Trust in capturing drone footage of their land when required.

The Viaër Marchi is classed as a ‘congested’ event so in order to fly the drone special permission is needed from The Director of Civil Aviation, Guernsey.

Guernsey Vineyard and Orchard

A Guernsey landowner approached me at one of the markets and asked me if I could drone his Vineyards and Orchards – and do this on a regular basis to monitor the development. (Photos used with the client’s kind permission).

Guernsey Information Centre

I was delighted in 2023 to be provided with space in their building to display a range of my drone canvas and poster prints for sale. Sales have been positive as have enquiries from visitors to the island.

In addition to prints, the Guernsey Information Centre now has for sale my other drone products, coasters, key rings and a lovely desk top 2025 Drone Calendar.

My thanks for their continued support with my business.

Brooks Macdonald International, Guernsey Office

This was an exciting project, working with the Guernsey office of Brooks Macdonald to provide bespoke canvas prints for their new offices in St. Peter Port. The team and I worked with a large template to decide the size and choice of pictures to be used for all the rooms in their new office.

The clients were pleased with the finished result.

Meadow Project

In June 2023, I was asked by a client to capture his meadow field to add to his portfolio for the Pollinator Project. Using the drone from various heights, we were able to capture the amazing fields, without the need to walk in the field and disturb the vegetation. The results were amazing!

The West Show

They say ‘West is Best’ – and in 2023 it celebrated its 100th show. I have done drone work for The Committee for two years – and in 2023 we were fortunate to have superb weather. With all the permissions in place I was able to get in the centre ring and capture some amazing photos of the events – in particular images of Skydive Jersey (where we had conducted a full brief before the jump). Some photos below, and here is a link to the short video I put together on YouTube.

Guernsey Kart and Motor Club

It is a real privilege to work with this club and get some amazing drone footage. Events like this take a fair amount of preplanning, getting in place all the required permissions. A significant detailed Risk Assessment and flight plan are needed and have to be approved prior to flying the drone. Pleinmont, Guernsey is on our direct flight path, so co-ordination with Guernsey Air Traffic Control is also needed prior to launching the drone and on landing.

The club provides me with a ‘safe area’ to operate from – but using the zoom facility on the drone(s) I can get some really good close up shots.
